Item of the Week: Madewell 'Slowdance' Skirt

I love long skirts, maybe even more than short ones. Part of it is maybe my romantic side (I've seen way too many period films) and part of it is the comfort of movement. I personally can't think of anything else that's more feminine and so unrestricted at the same time.

And it's so easy to style, whether it's with a simple t-shirt, a cozy sweater, or -- for more dressy moments -- a pretty blouse. Madewell's 'Slowdance' (great name!) is pleated perfection. So much so that I want one in every colour, although forest green is now so beautifully season appropriate.

$138 at Madewell.

Lovely skirt, so versatile. I don't own this style of pleated skirt, but I am on the look out for one!

Such a beautiful skirt! I recently bought a maxi skirt similar to this one (different color), but I have a hard time finding inspiration for ways to wear the skirt during the day (without looking too dressy). I like the picture you posted with it - flat booties, a shirt and scarf - it can be as simple as that.

I am hosting a GIVEAWAY: You can win a beautiful handmade copper plated feather necklace!

I've been quite tempted by a number of the Madewell long skirts but haven't bought one yet. Do you know if they are of decent quality and how the fit might be for petites/shorties like me?

abeautifullife.ca,

I'm usually satisfied with Madewell quality. I have some silk dresses that I adore. This skirt is poly (which I don't mind for skirts). I think you'd definitely have to have it hemmed.

It's SO pretty. I'm a long skirt kind of gal too.
