3.1 Phillip Lim F/W 2011
This summer hasn't really been my friend fashion-wise. It's been so cold and I've been so uninspired by Vancouver's weather. I've barely bought anything this season (my husband would disagree) and it's pretty much over so I'm saving all my pennies for F/W attire. The upcoming season is looking spectacular with lots of new themes being introduced. I've already published my fashion week coverage and now I'm looking into individual trends. They will all be neatly archived in the side bar under this icon.
First up is True Blue, the colour for fall. It's not just blue but an International Klein Blue, a specific shade used by the legendary artist Yves Klein in the 1950s. A bright, hard not to notice, electric blue.
Thakoon F/W 2011
Whether it's an all over blue explosion like Phillip Lim and Thakoon, a print like ADAM or simply a detail like Fendi, it's such a bright and vibrant way to welcome the new season.
ADAM F/W 2011
Fendi F/W 2011
Same goes with shoes, bags and accessories. Um, these Aperlai boots are unreal... And for once, I actually like something by Tory Burch.

Blue blue electric blue... you feelin' it?

Love electric blue. Happened a few years back too and lucky for me I've still got some bright blue sitting in my closet just waiting for me. So funny though to hear you say summer's almost over! Here in Madrid it's been 100 degrees for weeks, and it's just going to get hotter and hotter for another 2 months! I plan on running away. I'd rather jump out the window than be here in august.

Oh yes! I loved wearing cropped electric blue pants with a camouflage parka when it was raining. And today, a little blue skirt, grey tank and the long-awaited tan. Need to start saving for Thakoon Fall 2011.
Great post!
Nomadic D.,
Oh, it must be so HOT in Madrid! But then again, you're in Madrid and you can east all those little sandwiches in the afternoon :)
It's finally hot in Vancouver and I can finally wear stuff I bought back in April!
I'm with Nomadic D.--I still have one or two electric blue pieces from a couple years back. If it's a pretty colour and it flatters your skin tone, and the garment still fits, why get rid of it?
