Beauty Fridays: Messy Waves

Carlos Miele S/S 2011

I've always failed miserably at this look, except for when my hair was actually fried from bleach or from a sun/salt combination. Anytime I attempted something, I was closer to a frizzy hell rather than beachy heaven.

But now, thanks to Bumble and Bumble's 'Texture', I'm almost there. Still perfecting the look, but I'm convinced that this is all one needs to achieve it.

Bumble and bumble 'Texture' (Un) Dressing Creme ($33 at Sephora)

To avoid frizziness, apply to damp roots and brush it down, therefore a very small amount actually makes it to the ends (really try and avoid the ends all together). Then blow dry while you twist the hair with your fingers to create broken up curls. Or place in a bun for 1/2 hour or so. There is no need for hairspray. Keep it bouncy!

Has anyone tried it?

This has been on my sephora wish list since they started carrying b&b products. Next time I get back to the states I'm definitely going to pick some up, so good to hear it actually works!

Would love to try this product, but I'm not sure how it works on different hair textures. But braiding wet hair creates great messy wavy hair the next day!

I've heard that if your hair is TOO healthy (sleek, smooth, shiny) it can have trouble holding the waviness when you try to make it curly or perm it. Maybe you have that problem? ;)

Ola,

Yes, braiding is brilliant but (I know it's bad) I wash my hair every morning.

I cannot wait to try this out!!! My hair does the "naturally beachy/naturally frizzy disaster" if I let it air dry. I have tried no less than a trillion different products to achieve this, and most of them leave my hair disgustingly sticky... this isn't another sticky product is it?

ps- I follow your blog religiously, please keep it up!!!

talktomyshoes,

Not if you apply to wet/damp hair and work it in. Actually, I find it to be kind of chalky rather than sticky.

Thanks! Keep reading!
