Style Icon: Giovanna Battaglia

The most stylish of all Vogue editors is L’Uomo Vogue's Giovanna Battaglia. Sure, you can argue with me, but after seeing this post, you are not going to! I've been working on this post since Christmas but I had so many pictures of Battaglia in my folder that I became overwhelmed. If there is anyone than inspires me to dress more like a woman should dress, it's Giovanna or 'Gio' as her close friends like to call her.

Rarely seen in pants, Giovanna is always a picture of femininity, a real Milanese lady. She is not flashy like Anna Dello Russo or too-cool-for-school like Emmanuelle Alt; instead, her style is fairy classic, a sort of a modern Audrey Hepburn, but more Italian so therefore more effortless. She is very model-y and flawless (minus the smoking) but I think she has the kind of style that would translate well on most figures.

For those of you not familiar with Miss Battaglia, she is a former Dolce and Gabanna model and muse, Carine Roitfeld's maybe future daughter in-law, a freelance stylist and a fashion editor at L’Uomo Vogue. Giovanna has been a constant figure on street style blogs since the dawn of man and has pretty much a whole chapter dedicated to her in The Sartorialist's book.

She is my kind of gal. She loves A-line coats, mini skirts, occasional pants, Fendi bags and heels (always)! Her accessories are never over-the-top but always elegant and understated. She is a real lady.

Plus, she had one my favourite tweets (@batgiovanna) of the past year: "I broke my pinky toe! :-( So no more heels . . . for 10 days, but the most painful thing is that today I was forced to buy UGG[s]."

Haha, love her!

Isn't she just perfect?
