Welcome back Upper East Siders.

Blair: "Well, I can see my advice went the way of the clog!" Serena: "What are you talking about?" Blair: "An ugly wooden shoe that tried to make a statement and then disappeared."
Oh, the clog is back, Blair! Just you wait! I'm sure Vanessa will be wearing them in no time when she returns from doing God knows what.

We are in that awkward stage where Gossip Girl is still stuck in Fall 2009 and we are already in Spring 2010. Poor Gossip Girl, you'll catch up soon I'm sure. This episode was originally supposed to air in January, hence the winter get-up. It's still eye candy though, and, given the delay, you might actually be able to find a couple of items on a fashionable sale rack near you.
Now that Serena is in love, she is keeping her boobs under control with not one but two demure ensembles. Of course only on Serena would thigh high boots look demure. I'm just glad she finally exhausted Herve Leger's entire Fall 2009 collection. The Phillip Lim military coat is pure drool but seeing the Carlos Falchi in action is drool extraordinaire. Did you see it open and how the soft leather did a little 'I'm so soft' swirl?

Carlos Falchi croc satchel
Swarvoski earrings
Portolano gloves
Then she was off to another high society party that just ended up being anti-climactic (unless you count Serena and Nate's occurrence in the coat room) wearing a drug-embellished caplet given to her by (worst actor ever, like Days of Our Lives bad) Damien over a gorgeous black Versace gown. Did you see the slit on that gown? Sure made for easy access.

Giuseppe Zanotti crystal-studded pumps (not pictured)
Everyone's favourite drug mule, Little J, gets the best dressed award with her Andrew Gn spiderweb sequin gown (here it is on the runway). It was a perfect mix of her signature tough girl look and elegance worthy of La Table Elitaire.
Badgley Mischka earrings
Vita Fede "Como" wrap bracelet
Speaking of La Table Elitaire (again?), it seems that Blair believes that gaining acceptance to a secret society is by the way of black. Why so much black, Blair? I did love her Victoria Beckham (I can't believe I'm typing these words) one-shouldered gown topped with that gorgeous fitted Moschino jacket. But when it comes to Blair, it's always about the killer accessories. I'm just dying over those black and white House of Lavande earrings.
I can't even discuss Lily and Rufus. Boring. Bring on the Baldwin!
No Eric. C'mon writers! Get on it already!
Also next week: no-pants-Vanessa!

You know you love me.
xoxo,
It Girl
P.S. Thanks to InStyle Magazine for the info.

I loved S's gray coat and white sweater dress and Blair was hilarious as "Anna." And I agree, Serena's dress with the high slit = chocha city. But I thought Jenny threw out her sewing machine along with all her homemade clothes a few episodes back? Kudos to the writers for resurrecting her "fashion designer" storyline just so she could be a drug mule.
I think Jenny's "fashion designer" storyline is coming back because that Agnes model chick was reported to be filming new GG episodes.
Haha on the Serena keeping her boobs in comment. I didn't catch this episode, but now I want to!
Agnes Deyn?! No way. Wow is Vanessa somehow transported back in time to a 60s commune cuz that's what it looks like in that shot. Let's hope she gets stranded there.
Love the fashion roundup! I actually liked Jenny's look this episode - it was much more stylish than her normal Courtney Love wannabe look, and Serena looked perfect except for the chocha dress.
Not Agyness Deyn (I wish!) but that teen model girl that Jenny was friends with but then ended up setting Jenny's clothes on fire in a garbage can. That was such a silly plot line.
oh damnit i missed it this week. thanks for this awesome recap.
