Beauty Fridays: Shu Uemura False Eyelashes

I'm seriously considering getting a pair of these for Christmas party season. I'm not sure how people will respond to them but whatev: I'll be brave.

I especially like these 'snow-twist' ones

Shop Vancouver: Misch

There are so many amazing things at Misch, you might leave the store crying for more. Now that I've discovered Misch I don't know how I ever lived without it! CMisch carries carefully selected pieces from some of the world's hippest designers. They carry my favorites: Tsumori Chisato and Lutz & Patmos. Also, look for amazing pieces by Parisian favorite Vanessa Bruno.

These are a couple of things that really piqued my interest(I really need a magic money tree) during my last visit to Misch a few days ago.

Hussein Chalayan VS Kate Moss

I love it when designers get catty! Thank God someone shares my opinion on Kate Moss for TopShop. Bless you Hussein Chalayan.

“If you have a really strong sense of style and people want to aspire to being like you, I can understand that,” he says. “But if you really are doing it just because you think of yourself as a brand and you haven’t had the training and you know nothing about clothes, it kind of demeans all the training that designers have had.”

“I don’t think it represented her, and I didn’t think she worked hard enough. I even told her to her face.”

“She said, ‘Oh, I’m just trying to do a light thing; I’m not trying to do anything serious.’ But I said, ‘That’s not the point.’”

Amazing, no?

Anna Sui for Target aka Gossip Girl Collection

Move over Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte! The new tv fashionistas are the girls on Gossip Girl. So much so that Anna Sui dedicated her entire collection to them. While my tastes tend to shift towards Blair (and I'm proud to say we own some same pieces), I've liked some Vanessa fashions as well. What can I say? I can't resist that art student from Brooklyn look having been one myself in the past. Little J kind of sucks, no? I'm really disappointed there is no Chuck. Now that guy is the true fashion star of GG.

Jenny or Serena?

Beat the Heat: Rompers!

Second best thing to a summer dress is a summer romper. Sexy and cool, day or evening, it's a fool-proof way to look polished on a hot summer day! Wear with flats of heels.
3.1 Phillip Lim Downtown Silk Blend Romper

Catherine Malandrino Draped Neck Romper

Rory Beca Racer Back Romper

Plastic Island Cap Sleeve Jumpsuit

Rag & Bone Teddy Romper

Diane Von Furstenberg Heartie Romper (my fav)

Wilfred Silk Romper

P.S. They should all be on sale by this point in the summer.

Y-3 Yohji Yamamoto

No sportswear excites me as much as Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 line! I could wear it head-to-toe and never get tired of it. Adidas has been really smart with entering the world of high fashion through the likes of Yamamoto and Stella McCartney. Others have tried but haven't achieved such success. Hopefully, now that Hussein Chalayan (who I also love) has been named Creative Director for Nike, we can look forward to more mind-blowing sportswear.

I cannot praise Yoshi Yamamoto enough for both Y-3 and the Yoshi Yamamoto line. So far he has been one of those rare designers with 'perfect careers' (well, in my opinion). He has influenced many and had been copied endlessly (yes, I'm looking at you Gwen Stefani). Forty years in fashion and he has never lost touch on what is new and exciting. His clothes, whether casual of formal, always have the undeniable coolness factor that is straight from the streets of Tokyo. Wear it, and you'll be the coolest person in the room. And to think that he was once a lawyer...

Shoe Wednesdays: Elizabeth and James 'Edge Huarache' Sandals

I was going to post a pair of lovely Marc Fall 2009 booties but it's so hot outside that just the thought of wearing them was making me sweat. I'll keep them in mind for a cooler day. How about a sandal instead?

I already own three pairs of gladiator sandals but none of them are as nice as these lovelies by Elizabeth and James. I can't really justify buying a fourth pair yet (maybe on sale) but if you don't have a pair yet: these are the ones to get! Oh the lovely slight wedge heel... Oh the back zipper...

On the side note: I'm still looking for a gladiator-esque sandal similar to the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Anyone seen any?
