Style Icon: Chloë Sevigny

Chloë Sevigny for Uniqlo

(For the ones asking for more Rich Bitch Style Icons: they are on their way! Check back later this week for profile on C.Z. Guest and her many dogs.)

Today's icon is the fashion original and the coolest girl next door Chloë Sevigny.

I've been a fan of Chloë's way before she got into acting. For those of us around 30 Chloë will always be Sassy Magazine's It Girl. Have you read How Sassy Changed My Life: A Love Letter to the Greatest Teen Magazine of All Time? It certainly changed mine. I went from C&C Music Factory-listening-spandex-short-wearing-pre-teen to Britpop-listening-mod-retro-wearing-cool-girl in no time!

Chloë in Sassy(1992)

Since Sassy, my eyes have always been on Chloë. So her films have not always been the best and I always try and block Brown Bunny out of my mind (In her defence, I hear Vincent Gallo can be pretty convincing). Chloë is undeniably the most influential style icon of the 1990s and 2000s. I will give Chloë an edge over Kate Moss for being a regular girl with regular looks. Whether she is strolling the streets on NYC or attending a fabulous party, Chloë is always unique, original, brave and ahead of her time.

Casual Chloë
She had these high waisted short shorts first.

Keeping the grunge alive.

Androgynous and understated timeless style.

Boho chic at Coachella.

Jeans and cowboy boots, best combo for strolling about town.

While her street style is very understated and comfortable, don't be fooled, Chloë is a girly girl when it comes to evening attire.

How amazing is the Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony 2009 Fall Collection? I'm loving the buckle boots.
